MOTOR SPORTS.

NEW YEAR’S DAY AT DANNEVIRKE.

The Manawatu Motor Club will be holding its annual motor-cycle race meeting on the Dannevirke racecourse on New Year’s Day. Excellent nominations have been received and a good day’s entertainment is assured. The entries include such riders as Harry Mangham, who has won the New Zealand championship for the past four' years, and is still in great form : H. Ahrens, one of New Zealand’s most promising riders, who has just, landed a new motor for the occasion; the redoubtable Percy Coleman; J. Gower, who showed such great form on the Speedway; Reg. Ran by and Tim Wilkinson, two of New Zealand’s front-rank riders. The local riders include Doug. OoTTison, E. Pink, Bud Smith, Alby Waters and M. Smith, all of whom should be in the money. A bumper crowd should be in attendance at Dannevirke. The first race is timed to start at I p.m. sharp.
