Electric Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, November 16. The Otago and Southland Alethodist Synod is being held under the presidency of the Rev. Air Bellhouse. This morning the report of a cial committee on unemployment was adopted. Synod points cut that there is no cure for unemployment in a world which progressively passes on its work to machines, "and that the solution is to get plewttv of production distributed to all. It asks: “Arc we not running business on the financial system that grew up under hand labour conditions, but quite incapable of dealing with unlimited wealth produced by machines? 3 ’

The Government is to be requested to appoint a- committee to consider urgently these questions.
