There were no witnesses of tlie event, but it appears that the car was driven off the road by some means and the sailor precipitated through the windscreen. Mr G. A. Davidson, o? Hopeiands, who happened to pass after the accident, c-onveved tlie injured man, and his sister, who miraculously escaped injury! into Woodville where lie received medical attention.
