SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
WELL-KNOWN M ANGATAINOKA SETTLER. Ml- Will. Brown, a well-known and popular settler of Mangatainoka, was last evening the victim of a serious accident. Mr Brown had been visiting Mr J. Roy’s farm, Short Road, for the purpose of rendering aid to a sick cow. This was about 6.H0 o’clock. He remained at Minor's place about 20 minutes and was in the act of returning- ’home when he was knocked down bv a motor vehicle on the main load near his owii home and sustained a fractured leg (which was also lacerated), besides head injuries. He was apparently rendeivt.l very dazed or unconscious and remained in this state for some, time. On coming to he managed lo struggle borne. The sufferer is an inmate of the Pahiatua Hospital. At the time of the accident, lie was wearing gum boots and the impact is revealed in the treatment thev received.
