Half a million arms raised in salute and a deafening roar. “Hail Hitler!” greeted tlie Chancellor's appearance at a monster demonstration at Zeppelin Field, attended by 160,000 local .officials specially chosen as a reward for services to the party, which all had joined befoi'e 1930. A forest of flags moved across the field toward Herr Hitler, who declared that though tile German people were at last united, Nazi officials must continue to fight for the Nazi movement. The demonstration concluded with “Deutschland über Alles,” followed by the Nazi anthem. The Graf Zeppelin and numerous aeroplanes circled the stadium during the reception to Herr Hitler. An aeroplane bearing Herr Hofer, the Austrian Nazi leader, specially fitted with a stretcher, was acclaimed by the .lense crowd. WORLD CONDEMNS. LONDON. September 2. The Daily Telegraph savs the judgment of the world is rarely so. unanimous as upon the present regime in Germany. Herr Hitler has made, as no politician in modern times has done, a religion of virulent, murderous hatred. Racial hatred, instead of being one of the vilest human passions, is for him a duty and a points of honour. NO WEAPONS IN SCHOOL. BERLIN, September 1. “Weapons must not be carried in school. Don’t refuse to obey an unpopular teacher because you think he or she is hostile to the State.' ’ * These are among the regulations of the Prussian Minister of Education, defining the Hitler Youth Organisation’s attitude. It orders thats only one Sunday a month be allowed for recreation. The other holidays must be employed in duties in the Nazi movement. Hitlerites are allotted an extra half-holiday for “party purposes.” Eleven hundred cases of “atrocity mongering” have been handled in the Berlin Criminal Court since it became a punishable offence. The number of convictions is not stated. AUSTRIAN CHANCELLOR. LONDON. September 2. The Vienna correspondent of the Daily Mail says it is strongly rumoured that Dr. Dolfuss, the' Austrian Chancellor, will resign ir. the r.ear future. He will lie succeeded bv Major Fey, Minister of Public Safety.
