TREE PLANTING.
50,000 ACRES A YEAR. Electric Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, August 16. Speaking at Oroiiiwell, the Minister of Lands (the Hon. E. A. Ransom) remarked that the Government had some years ago arranged for the annual j>lanting of 50,000 acres of land, and even this year, despite the depression, some 30,000 acres would be planted. Extra young trees, based oil a programme of the planting of 50,000 acres, had been offered free to public bodies.
