SHOOTING AT HUKANUI

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Byrne Shield competition was advanced another stage when Makomako journeyed to Hukanui and defeated the local team by a small margin of 14 points. A B team also competed in a friendly match and beat the local B team by the small number of two points. A very enjoyable time was spent. Mr Eismg, m the unavoidable absence of Mr F. Ebbett, thanked the local teams for their hospitality and expressed appreciation of the enjoyable time spent at Hukanui where they were so well entertained. He called for three cheers for the local club. Mr C.« R. Eddie, the local president, returned thanks and congratulated both visiting teams on their good win and also the other clubs who have pulled together so well to be able to keep the shooting sport together.
