OBITUARY.

The death occurred suddenly at her home, No. 47 Waipapa Road, Hataitai, Wellington, ot Mrs Constance Tolan, wife of Mr Harold W. Tola n.

Mr George Cooke Alward, superintendent engineer of New Zealand Fisheries, Ltd., and brother of Mr R. S. Alward, managing-director of the same company, died at his residence, The Crescent, Roseneath. Wellington. The Rev. John Alexander Wilson, vicar of the Chatham Islands, died suddenly at the age of 31. Mir Wilson was the son of the Rev. G. D. Wilson, formerly vicar of Woodville and now of Lumeden, SouthI a li d.

A link with earlv Wanganui was severed this week by the death of Mr William Ritchie. Mr Ritcliie was born in 1944 at Kincairn, Scotland, where ha was educated.
