PAHIATUA SHOW

At a meeting of the Daunevirke A. .and P. Association the X.I. Kennel Club wrote asking that the date of the opening of the annual show In* altered back to Wednesday, since the present day (Tuesday) was very unacceptable.— The secretary stated that application was being, made to have the old days re-instated. The alteration had been made at the urgent request of the P'aliiatua A. and J’. Association on tiio plea that the ol«I dates precluded the holding of their show on any day but Saturdav. Speaking of the proposal to get ihe dates of the show returned to the original days—Wednesday and Thursday—the President said that- in some respects the holding of the shew on Tuesday and Wednesday had proved more convenient to breeders and exhibitors. provided the train arrangements on Monday were satisfactory, but this had not been the case so far and opening the show on ihe Tuesday was verv inconvenient, for the association. When the alteration was asked for bv the Pahiatna \ and P. Association that body ha:l mentioned. as an inducement that more exhibits and greatci patronage would be available from that district, but as a matter of 1 fact this had not been forthcoming. He considered the application should be made and made again if it was unsuccessful tins vea.r.—News.
