BOWLING.

At the annual meeting of the Eketahuna Bowling Club, the bal-ance-sheet showed a loss of £'l2. There was a proposal that the club should close down. Members accepted the position philosophically and after some general discussion the motion for adoption was carried. The consensus of opinion was strongly in favour of the club cartying on, particularly as a good deal of deterioration would occur if it closed down, and fixed charges would continue, and it was stressed that an effort should be made to secure new members. It was stated that several had intimated their intention of joining up. A resolution to carry cn was carried with a recommendation that* the committee consider ways and means of augmenting the funds during the season. It was decided that the subscription be 30s (lor both town and co unt ry members).
