WEDDING

CONNOR—DILLON. A wedding of wide interest was solemnised at the Sacred Heart Church, Eketahuna, on Wednesday, June loth, the contracting parties being Kathleen Frances, y'oungest daughter of Mrs Dillon and the late dir James Dillon, of Newman, and Charles James, second son of Mrs Connor and the late Mr Charles Connor, of Nireaha, The ceremony was performed by tlie Rev, Father Doherty. The bride, who was given away by' her brother, Mr C. Dillon, looked charming in a long graceful frock of ivory satin, which was fit—ting to the hip line, where three flared frills encircled the frock deepening in width at the back and forming a bustle effect, while, the skirt fell in soft, full flares to the ground. Her beautifully embroidered veil, which formed a train, was attached to a high coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a lovely' sheaf of spring flowers in tones of white and gold. The bridesmaids in attendance were Miss Agnes Dillon (chief) (sister of the bride), Miss Zylpha Connor (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss Madge Bennett (Otaki). They were all dressed alike in ankle length frccks of daffodil yellow taffeta having a flame shot effect, the full skirts being panelled with georgette to tone and finished at the back with large taffeta bows. Flame coloured felt bats with ostrich feather trimming and satin shoes to tone were worn. Each carried a sheaf of narcissi, Iceland poppies and maiden-hair fern, blending with the colour of the frocks. The bridegroom was attended by Mr C. McKenna, and the groomsmen were Mr J. Dillon and Air J. McKenna. A feature of the ceremony was the music rendered by Mr D. M. Connor (violin) in conjunction with Air Ken Alorrison, who presided at the organ. As the bride left the church she was presented with a white satin horse decorated with carnations and white heather, by 7 Miiss Eleanor Dillon. Later Mrs Dillon, wearing a navy coloured costume, fox fur and navy hat trimmed with wine-colour-ed osprey, and assisted by her daughter, Airs E. Gibbard. of Dannevirke, received about eighty guests at the Public Hall, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of and a lengthy toast list honoured. A pleasant diversion were songs given by Airs Pat Dillon and Air A. Breen, accompanied by Air Ken Alorrison. Congratulatory telegrams were received from many parts of New Zealand. Among the guests were friends from Wellington, Feather.ston, Alasterton, Pahiatua, Dannevirke and Otaki. Later tlie happy couple left on a motor tour of Tongariro National Park and the thermal district en route to Auckland, the bride travelling in a scarlet Heckled tweed frock, fur trimmed, with felt hat to tone, and a brown musquash fur coat, Mr and Airs Connor’s future home will be at Nireaha.
