£4,000,000 BETTER THAN ESTIMATE THE PROBABLE DEFICIT. Electric Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND June 28. It is understoond that the Prime Aliuister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Fortes will issue a statement this week reviewing the audited publie accounts for tile iast financial year.
The statement will disclose an acual deficit of £2.100,000, which is an improvement of £IOO.OOO on til - figure estimated by the Minister of Finance-, the Hon. \V. D. Downie Stewart on the basis of the eleven months’ figures.
