A street stall was held yesterday in aid of the Alethodist circuit fund. Despite tile very inclement weather, there was a good response by supporters. Those iu charge were Al.— dames AY. M. Pickering, A. Willis, G. Gardiner and L. A’lie. The death occurred at Dannevirke of Mr Hedley T. James, who was well-known iii the AA’airarapa and Hawke’s Bay districts. The deceased gentleman had been in ill-health for some time, and recently entered a private hospital, it being found necessary to amputate a leg. He originally resided in Woodville and. was stock buyer for the Gear Meat Co. He frequently acted as a judge in the sheep classes at the Pahiatua. Show. The late Air James was widely esteemed. He was a member of various institutions. He leaves a, widow and two sons.
