Preliminary allocations for the province have lieen set down for '93233 _at £93,000 as compar • with £l/3,000 for the previous year, a decrease of £BO.OOO. Owing to the lack of borrowed money it lias been decided that nothing will l>o provided this year for main highways construction from this source. Last financial year the Government was able to set aside £540,000 for main highways construction works. It has lieen explained that- tho highways are in good order and that work on them in the meantime must he confined to essential maintenance.
