OBITUARY

MR. P. S. McLEAN. The death has occurred at Napier of Mir. Patrick Stirling McLean, a prominent member of the legal profession, aged 79, states a Press Association telegram. Deceased was born in Dumblane, Scotland, and came to Hawke’s Bay nearly sixty years ago. He was recognised as a particularly able lawyer, and was once offered a judgeship. MR. GEORGE COLLINS. Mr George Collins, of Wellington, who died on Friday morning in Auckland,, after a brief illness, was well known throughout New Zealand as a timber broker, doing a large export business in New Zealand timbers as well as timbers for the New Zealand markets. He leaves a wife and married daughter. MRS- W. F. M. FITZHERBERT. The death occurred at Auckland this week of Mrs Mary Flora McDonald Fitzherbert, formerly of Palmerston North, and widow of the late Mr H. S. Fitzherbert, S.M., in her seventy-eighth year. MR. T. T. KERSLAKE. An old identity in Palmerston North in the person of Mr Thomas Tozer Kerslake, died on Saturday, in his eighty-first year. He wa's in business for very many years as a tailor and was a well-known figure in the town. He identified himself with various institutions. The late Mr Kerslake recently celebrated liis golden wedding. Mrs Kerslake survives her husband, as do also their two sons and three daughters. The elder son is Mr H. G, Kerslake, of Levin, managing director of Kerslake and Billens, Ltd., and a director of the Manawatu Daily Times. MR. W. L. TREMEWAN, OF ASHHURST. The death occurred at his residence of Mr Leonard Gordon Tiemewan,' of Aslihurst. Born in that township, the deceased gentleman was 4G years of age. He took a keen interest m all matters pertaining to the welfare of the district, and was a member of the Domain Board and a director of the Aslihurst cheese factory, as well as being an old member of the Foresters’ Lodge. A widow and four children—three girls and one boy—are left to mourn liis jiassing.
