OBSCENE LANGUAGE
YOUTH CONVICTED. The charge of obscene language against Harold Swjaii, wihieh was heard oil January* 6th last, and adjourned was finally dealt with, at the Paliiatua Magistrate's Court this morning by Messrs A. Barreil and D. O’Brien J's.P. Air G. Harold Smith who repre© sented defendant, informed the Court that the present minor charge arose cut of the same set, of circumstances as did the charge of indecent assault, in respect of which accused had already been dealt with by the Supreme Court at Palmerston North, when the Judge convicted h.im and ordered him to come up, for sentence when, called upon within two years. Counsel submitted that as Ik had already been dealt with this Court should discharge him. The Bench impressed upon the accused the seriousness of the present charge and warned him that if he did not behave himself in the future he would he liable to be arrested and punished by the Supreme Court on the major charge. In view of this the Court decided to convict and discharge him.
