MAKOMAKO WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

Over 39 members attended the August meet-ng of the Moknniako Wpaien’s Institute, at which it was decided to adopt the Makomako, or “wineberry.”. as the Institute’s floral emblem. Miss R. Mitchell gave a very instructive demonstration to members in tatting and smocking. Several members brought handcraft articles for inspection. A playette entitled “Between the Soup and the Savoury” was cleverly acted by the Mi-ses Sargent, F. N’eu and M. Clarke. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the hostesses. Meslnnies Clark and T.
