TAKEN FROM SUITCASES YOUNG MAN BEFORE COURT. Electric Telegraph—Dress Association WELLINGTON. This Day. Arrested at one of the city'skat-, ing rinks last evening, Arthur John Roberts, aged 28, a motor driver, appeared before Mr McNeil, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day on a ‘charge of stealing two suitcases contain nig jewellery and clothing to the total value of £IOOO, the property of Sladen and Son, wholesale jewellers, Christchurch.. He was remanded till August 28th. It is understood that the jewellery was stolen from one of the firm’s travellers, who left the suitcases in a car in Harris Street while he was absent for a few minutes.
