ASSAULT CHARGES. At the Eketahuna S.AI. Court liefore Mr J. Aliller, S.AI., A Morris (All- Page) proceeded against C Seymour (Mr MoSherry) (botli of Newman) on a charge of alleged assault. C. Seymour had a counter charge against H. Morris and A Morris of assault. In summing up. the Ahugistrate said this was a neighbours’ squabble but it involved, a grave feature.. One family or the other had committed deliberate perjury. He was not satisfied, with the evidence of the Alorris family and apparently nothing would have happened had not Air Alorris intercepted the Seymour boys. Neither was he satisfied with the Seymours’* story. The whole thing emanated from a squabble and the parents had taken up, the children's squabbles. The trouble would have been avoided if both. families had exercised .proper control qver the children. He considered his only course was to dismiss dike informations. -It the same timeVhe, stressed the fact of perjury. He warned each family that ii any further case came before him. lie would bind them, over to keep the peace and if there was a third appearance imprisonment would probably follow. He also impressed upon the boys that they must not continue an aggressive spirit.
