MEDAL AWARDED TO PAPUANS (Received 10.20 a.m.) United Press Assn —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 23. Lloyd’s medal for saving life at sea was awarded the two Papuans, Lgna Kevau and Gari Fai, for heroism in rescuing Mrs Beige, whose husband and her four children and thirteen natives were drowned when the motor vessel Vaivao foundered. It is believed this is the first occasion the medal has been awarded to natives.
