EXPENDITURE DECREASING
(Received 10 a.m.) United Press Assn —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 23. A Paris correspondent says that the report on the military estimates submitted to the. Deputies envisages the Disarmament Commission's discussions and presents the French cause in a most favourable light. The home army vote is shown as £38,000,000 ,and overseas £13,000,000. aggregating £600,000 more than last year.
The expenditure has allegedly decreased by ten per cent, since 1914. while the United States has increased 86 per cent., Japan 48 per cent., and Britain has decreased 1 per cent, and Italy 14 pel' cent. France compares her 552,000 men at home anti overseas with Britain® 510,000 regulars, 277,000 militia and 43,000 overseas formations. Italy lia< 303.000 regulars. 110,000 police and militia, and Germany 100.000 regulars and 15,000 security police. <=
