AFTER 18 YEARS
THE FIRST BREAK IN DAIRY COMPANY. In characteristically unostentatious manner, Mr John Pryde, the first manager of the Papatawa Co-opera-tive Dairy Co., Ltd., which by the way was the first co-operative concern of the kind in the Woodville district, recently retired after 18 years’ service, and he has now taken up his residence in Woodville. Air Pryde went from the Rexdale Company (AJiangamaire) to Papatawa, and at the outset of operations there were only eight suppliers, till to-day the output is upwards of 300 tons. Air Pryde’s retirement makes the first break in a happy trio—there being the same chairman of directors (Mr O- F. Baker), the one secretary (Air J. G. Brechin) and the one manager—throughout the 18 years, quite an unusual constant association. Mr Pryde has been a very faithful and conscientious servant of the company, devotion to duty always being his aim. He has merited the sincere well-wishes of the company and the settlers generally bv his loyalty, genial temperament and unassuming disposition.
