REDUCED FREIGHT RATES
SAVINGS TO PRODUCERS.
Reductions are announced in tlie shipping freight rates on frozen meat and dairy produce to take* effect as from September 1, and representing a -sqving to the producers of £85,000 per annum. The New Zealand Meat Producers Board and the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board, who have been negotiating with the shipping companies in London in connection with shipping freight rates on frozen meat ancTdairy produce, have now accepted a. new contract at a reduction of a further 2} per cent, which br lings the rates down to lo pel cent off the rates obtaining m respect to both meat and dairy produce for the 1924-25 season. The period of the contract is three years, and the 2J per cent reduction now obtained represents a further saving to the meat producers of the Dominion of approximately £• r> I,OUU per season, and to the dairy producers of approximatelv £35,000 per 'season. The new contract will take effect on September 1, 1930.
