WEDNESDAY’S ATTRACTION. Last evening a well-attended committee meeting was held, at the Brigade station to finalise arrangements in connection with the Gaia Day to he held next Wednesday afternoon on the Recreation Ground. Supt. W. La wry presided. An apology was received, from Mr R. A. Williams, who is unable to act as one of the. judges, owing to being out of the district on “Wednesday. It was deckled to have another working bee. to complete the track on the Recreation Ground. Members are reminded to be at the ground- at 5.30 p-.m. on Monday next. Entries for the different events so far are very good and intending competitors are reminded that the entries close this evening at 8 p.m The following gentlemen have been appointed officials:—Joint starters, Messrs A. Morgan and, E. L. Harvey; judges. Messrs E. H. Lett. W. Black and E. 1,. Harvey, track sto wards, Messrs T. Paget and A. F. Coslord ; assistant track stewards, Messrs T. Morgan and C. Bradley ; handicapper. Mr A. .Morgan ; protest committee. Messrs A. Costard. D Wilton and A. Morgan; megrplionist, Mr A. Cosford. Post entries will be received for the following events : M arried ladies' race, young ladies' race, football and hockey.novelty race, high jump, long jump, putting the shot, chain stepping. bandsman's race, fireman’s race and all school children’s events The _ members of the Pahiatua Municipal Silver Band hat year again generously offered to contribute selections during the afternoon.
