ANX CA L CON VENTIO X. Electric Telegraph—Press Association TIM ARC. March 20. ihe annual New Zealand convention of the W.O.T.U. opened tliis morning. A large number of delegates were pi-esent from various parts of the Dominion. Mrs T. E. Taylor, of Christchurch, is presidover the conference. The visitors were accorded a civic welcome by the Mayor (Mr W An<rland). ° To-day’s business was confined to the hearing of reports. An address was also given by the president. Membership banners were won bv the Nelson district, Linwood W.0.T.U., and tlie Rieearton V Union. The Little White Ribboners, tlie .Band of Hope, and L.T. L. all showed good progress. The financial. statement showed satisfactory credits in the digerent funds.

Pahiatua district delegates are Alls H. Paterson and Airs L. H. Holdaway.
