TO-NIGHT AND THURSDAY—GARY COOPER IN PART TALKIE Pretty Nancy Carroll, Paramount star, is seen and heard singing a catchy love melody in tjie Paramount Sound picture, “The Shopworn Angel, which is being screened at the King’s Theatre this evening and T hursday. File song is “A precious Little Tiling Called i vove.” and is made full of life by the little star. ‘The Shopworn Angel” is a Paramount part talkie picture. It tells a story ot a rube soldier boy who wins the heart of a Hroaduav Follies girl against a struggle 01 tragedy. All •of the sound effects of rehearsals of a big musical comedy show behind the scenes are included in the synchronisation. The music score, rendered by an eighty piece orchestra is magnificent. One ent re reel of the picture is in dialogue centred around the mairinge scene. The minister, as well as Oary Cooper and Nancy Carroll, are heard speaking in the sequences. Roscie Ivarns, the .-tage manager in the picture, is also heard in some good comedy laughs. Muse from a lull military hand is also featured in the scenes showing* Gai y Cooper off to war. In addition there will he a good supporting programme of all talkie short subjects, includ ng a fine eartoon. The prices will be 2s and ls Gd children half-price.
