The Pahiatua Chamber of Commerce wrote to tho Borough Council ms follows: “By resolution passed by members at the annual meeting of this Chamber, held on 21st ultimo. 1 have to urge upon your Council the advisab - ity of placing stone kcrbiim rum the public squares in Main Street. “I would direct your attention to the letter from the then secretary of the Chamber addressed to toe Town Clerk on the 21st DeccmJ-r. 1928. in which the views oi tho Chamber were fully set out, and to the reply dated 28th January following in winch the Town Clerk w us directed to say that the matter was. under the consideration of the Council.” Tiie Mayor said that the Works Committee had dealt with this matter in its report.
