FEILDING SALE LARGE SHEEP YARDING. Electric Telegraph—Press Association FEILDING, March 7. Twenty thousand sheep were yarded for the, Feilding stock sale today. They were mostly breeding ewes, but the quality was not up to that of the ewe fair of a couple oi weeks ago. Prices were down considerably on recent ruling rates. There was a firm market for fat lambs, which realised up to 15s lOd. Prime fat wethers sold from 26s to 26s 6d; good, 25s 6d ; medium, 23s to 245. Prime fat ewes brought from 20s 3d to 2ls ; good, 17s to ‘l7s lOd; medium, los lOd to 16s 9d. Prices for store breeding ewes were: Twotooths, best, 32s Id to 245; good, 26s 9d; other lines from 23s 8d to 24s ; four-tooth, 31s 3d.and 30s 6d; four and five-year, best, 25s Id; good, 20s Id; others, 15s 3d to 17s Id ; five-year, 17s- to 18s 4d; lambs, b.f., 15s 4d ; ewe lambs, 13s- and 15s 4d ; wether lambs, 14s. There was a fairly large offering of fat cattle, which found a ready market. Good P.A. cows of prime quality brought £lO 12s 6d to £lO 15s; Hereford bullocks, prime £lO 10s to £l2 7s 6d ; Shorthorn cows, £9; Shorthorn heifers, prime weights, £ll to £ll los ; good quality, £lO 10s; poor quality, from £5 10s to £7 ; fat steers, £6 to £6 los ; barren heifers, £5 15s to £8 os. Store cattle: Bullocks, mixed colours, £7 ss; weaner heifers, good, £3 16s to £4 Is; weaner steers, £2 7s to £3 14s; cows, good condition. £5 10s; others, from £4; P.A. steers, three and a half year olds, £lO 11s; P.A. cows and calves, £lO os : potter bulls, heavy, £9 2s 6d to £lO 10s ; lighter. £7 los to £8 12s 6d; stag, £8 10s; Jersey heifers, r.w.b. £5 4s. Dairy cows in milk realised from £8 los to £8 17s 6d. and springing cows from £9 2s 6d to £lO 7s' 6d. Several I nes of store cattle, particularly steers, were passed in, the vendors’ reserves being too high.
