EVENING MEETING. The evening athletic- meeting of the Mangatainoka Amateur Atldetie Society, held on the Domain last evesing under the direction of Mr E. H. Lett, was very successful. Some good racing was witnessed and the events resulted as follows: Half-mile cycle dash: C. Bell-haw 1, F. A. Dalzell 2. T. Walsh 3 Two-mil© cycle; E. J. Lett 1. T. Walsh 2. V. Lett 3. 100 yards handicap: E. L. Harvey 1, B. Harvey 2, B. Bradv 3: close finish. 220 yards: B. Bradv 1. R Lett 2 G. Wade 3. Boys’ race, 100 yards: Jack Paget 1, Ken Pearce 2. Girls’ race, 100 yards: M. Reichenbach 1. J. Forster 2. Boys’ cycle race. one mile: J. Martin 1. Claude Harvev 2. R, Miller 3. Two locally owned whippets were given a try-out and the races evoked great interest. A short meeting ol the committee of the Society was held afterwards, Mr E. L. Harvey presiding, when it was reported that everything was in good order for Boxing Day.
