A GREAT PAGEANT
SPLENDIDLY STAGED. United Press Assn—By Electric Telegraph—Con vri gh t TOKIO, November 6. Nothing marred the splendidlystaged pageant of the enthronement of the Mikado. The Emperor departed for Kyota promptly at the appointed hour. Bugles signalled the start from the palace, the procession, which was a magnificent spectacle proceeding along the broad avenue leading to the station. Attention was concentrated on the wonderful palanquin containing regalia, carried on the shoulders of bearers in ancient historical dress. The Emperor was in tlie uniform of a Generalissimo, in a coach surmounted by a golden phoenix, drawn by six liorses followed by the coaches of the Empress. Prince and Prince Chiehib'i and others of the family. A gathering of notables received their Majesties at the station. They are resting at Nagoya palace tonight and are continuing the journey to Kyoto to-morrow.
