A WELCOME VISITOR
“THE COMPANY’S BANKER.” A welcome visitor to the annual meeting of the North Tiraumea Dairy Company was a gentleman referred to by Mr Rose, the chairman, as “the company’s banker.” Mr Howden, local manager of the Bank of New Zealand, was given a cordial reception; and in acknowledging it stated that he found it most interesting to attend the dairy company’s meeting and meet his clients on their own ground. He heartily congratulated the company oil its fine balance-sheet, and stated that so far as the bank was concerned it was quite satisfied that the directors were running their business on sound and proper lines. It was the duty of all business concerns to remember that depreciation was a fair and proper charge to make on the working account and it was pleasurable for him to be able to report to- his head office- that the North Tiraumea directors were going along on the right lines. While they did that they need not fear the future or think that the bank would not assist them with additional fina n ce.
Mr Howden’s remarks were appreciably received and lie was thanked for the advice he had so readily imparted.
