HOCKEY DANCE TO-NIGHT. An excellent evening’s dancing is assured all patrons who attend the big plain and fancy dress dance to be held in the Foresters’ Hall tonight in aid of the Bush Ladies’ Hockey Assn. ATI arrangements are complete for a highly successful function. Wi Duncan’s orchestra will attract a very large number of visitors who have proved the hoc-key dances in Pahiatua to be something above the average in entertainment. FAREWELL AT BALLANCE. Ballance 'and district will be strongly represented to-morrow (Thursday) nighr at the farewell social and danc-e to be tendered Air and Ylrs D. Mcßae in the Ballance Hall. The music will be supplied bv Atr R. Paku. HOCKEY CARNIY’AL DANCE. Th© Bush Ladies’ Hockey Assn, is conducting a monster dance at Eketahuna on Friday night when the resulk of the hoc-key queen carnival will be announced and the season's trophies presented. REFORM MEETING. A very important meeting of ail Reform supporters is called for Friday night in the Borough Council Chambers, when a candidate to contest the Pahiatua seat at the forthcoining election will probably be selected. GOLF COMPETITION. A stroke handicap competition for men. for a silver button, will lie held on the local links on Saturday afternoon next. Players muse arrange for their own partners. GIFT SHOP. A gift shop will he held at Hannah's corner on Saturday in aid of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Churc-h. Donations of home-made cakes, sweets, produce, etc., nr© solicited. TENNIS BALL. The Pahiatua Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club is organising a hall to take place in the Drill Hall on Tli::r&day, September 6th.
