THE ANNUAL REPORT. Tli© following is a summary of the report to he presented at the annual congregational meeting of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church: “In presenting this report the Kirk Session gratefully returns thanks to God for His continued help and blessing. A fine spirit of harmony and loyalty has been manifested in the church life and work throughout the year, and all the usual means of promoting the welfare of the congregation have been prosecuted with diligence. The Home Mission parish of Eketahuna was incorporated with Pahiatua by order of the Presbytery. This has added greatly to the difficulties of working efficiently so large a parish. hut we are endeavouring all that is at present practicable. “Despite much sickness, our minister and his wife have kept closely in 'touch with the work, and their visitations to the homes of the congregation and tlie hospital have been greatly appreciated. “AA'e record with deep regret the removal by death of Mr J. S. Bisset. Mr H. H. Godfrey, Mrs C. Steward, and Mrs AA*. H. Morrison. “The Bible Classes and Sunday school have been carried on during the year with some success in spire of removals of both teachers and scholars. The Young AVorshippers’ League has a membership of 22. and maintains a fair average attendance. “The P.W.M.U. has met regularly during the year, and reports additions to mem.bership and interest well maintained. A sum of £23 was raised for missions.
“The Ladies’ Social Guild report a membership of 48, which is a record. By subscriptions, shop days and bazaar the sum of £l3B 14s 4d was raised for the general fund of the cli ureh.
“The choir, under the leadership of Mr AV. R. Richardson, has regularly led the service of praise and assisted at congregational socials and meetings. “The management committee report a successful year financially, tlie gross income of the church being £545 19s. of which £267 Is lid was raised under the budget envelope system and £ll7 by collections. That the budget system is gaining the confidence and support of the membership of the church is abundantly proved and the committee earnestly appeal to those of the congregation who have not so far joined the system to do s 0 at the beginning of the new financial year. “In conclusion, the Kirk Session would thank all who have contributed to the success of the work in the past, especially the concert party from Palmerston North, which helped to make the annhe-sary tea so great a success.”
