DEATH OF A SPECTATOR. Electric Telegraph-—TVes*) Association AUCKLAND. This Day. Geo. Bruce, who died at Takapun.i yesterday, was born at Dundee in 1839. Me was on the sailing vessel Sntley, which carried stores to the troops in the Crimea. He was a spectator of the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava, and as hospital assistant came into personal contact with Florence Nightingale. He came to New Zealand in 1867, and Inter was secretary of the Oamarl i' Hospital Board for some years.
