A CHEAP TRIP HINKLER’S GREAT FLIGHT. (Received 10.40 a.m.) Electric Telegraph—Frees Association BRISBANE. This Day. Air Bert Hinkler, interviewed at Bundaberg, said the flight to Australia cost him £55 approximately. Tt was difficult to work out exactly the cost as the decreased price of petrol varied from Is 5d per gallon in Britain to 3s 6d at Basra. He did 25 mi lee to the gallon, and used 450 gallons. Mr Bruce has received from Mr Coates a cable conveying New Zea-h-nd’s congratulations to Hinkler on the success of his flight.
