SWIMMING CONTROL

PROTEST FROM PONSONBY. Electric Telegrap'n—Press Association AUCKLAND, Last Night. At a meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Council the Amateur Swimming Union of Australia wrote inviting Miss Ena Stocklev, of Auckland, to- accompany Miss Katl lleen Miller, of Dunedin, to visit Australia to compete in the New South Wales championships. The secretary reported that Miss Stockley had accepted the invitation. An appeal was received from the Ponsonby Club against the decision of the Auckland Centre in adopting a rule that a fixed amount to be paid by club members by way of club subscriptions. The club claimed that the rule was ultra vires. It was decided that the appeal beupheld.
