Accused, who was not represented by counsel, pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court at ■Wellington lor sentence. On a further charge, that on -r atx.ut August 7 at Stratford, lie did make out a false cheque for £lB Os 6cl. pui-|MM-tiug to be signed bv F Spooner, and did act upon it if were genuine by uttering it to Masteis Ltd., accused was remanded to apiiear a,t Sti at lord to-morrow.
