NEW PLANTIFOR WELLINGTON WHAT THE CITY HAS TO PAY. Electlic Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, This Day. The Fire Board’s estimates for the first year of its existence to be provided jointly by the City Council, fire insurance companies, and Government total £28,787. This figure is a great deal larger than any annual grant the Council has ever been called upon to pay, but £5200 is the first annual payment to the city for the purchase by the board of the properties and plant, payment for which has been, arranged over a period ot 26 years. The board also is dispensing with the obsolete plant and acquiring a. new engine, and a quantity of hose.
