ZANE GREY’S "WILD HORSE MESA.” An involuntary chorus of “ohs” and "alls” and “oolis” punctuated the atmosphere at the Re Duxe Theatre. Wellington, during tho initial unfolding of “Wild Horse Mesa,” Paramount’s celluloid version of Zane Grey's latest novel. That this spontaneous tribute to the merits of the photoplay was well deserved, is attested to by tlio fact that all over the country, whereever this spectacular production has been shown, it lias been hailed as a melodramatic thriller of the first water. Zane Grey is without a peer when it comes to devising dynamic plots that vibrate with red-blooded action, and in “Wild Horse Mesa,” lie is at his supreme host. The story depicts in gripping manner the barbarous scheme of a gang of horse thieves and outlaws to capture several thousand wild horses by stampeding them into a barbed wire trap. Jack Holt, who portrays the leading role. covers himself with dramatic glory, and gives a sunerb exhibition of horsemanship skill. Noah Beery handles the “had man” part with his usual fincseo: Bilim Dove, charming and lovely, finishes the love interest. In addition, there will be Bebe Daniels and Norman Kerry in “Raring Youth,” a drama of interest and high steppers. The programme will finish up with a Charlie Chaplin comedy. A night of jov, thrills and laughter.
