MORE FOR CANTERBURY Electric Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Yesterday marked the completion of the construction work foi the extension of the Lake Coleridge hydroelectric scheme, as a result of which an additional To,ooo kilowatt of power will shortly be available for the use of the people of Canterbury. Water from the lake has not yet been turned into the new .tunnel, and the new generators are not running, but the civil engineering branch of the Public Works Department has completed its share of tlie work and handed over the job in good order and condition to tlie electrical branch. The total cost of the extension is about £730,000.
