AUCKLAND WOOL SALES.
IRREGULAR PRICES. Electric Telegraph—Press Association Auckland, March 21. The third and final wool sale for the season was held to-day, when 12,095 bales were offered to a full attendance of buyers, representing Bradford, the Continent, America, and local mills and scourers. In view of the slight drop in prices in other centres, considerable interest was taken. Competition was somewhat erratic, and compared with the previous sale prices were irregular. Fullgrown hogget wool showed a decided improvement on last sale, the increase in cases being a penny. In contrast, the price for super grade Romney was a halfpenny to a penny lower. Medium and crossbreds, which form the bulk of the Auckland catalogues, maintained previous sale prices. Well-grown Lincoln was a penny, dearer. Lambs in some cases equalled the last sale, but there was an easing tendency, some lots declining a penny. The offerings were of average quality, less seedy being in evidence than usual at the third series. About So per cent, of the offering was sold, the prices being as follows, February sales being in parenthesis :—Super lialfbred 14f d to lo£d, average half bred 12d to 13d (lialfbred to 144 d) ; fine crossbred super, lid to 13d (lid to 12d) ; average crossfire!., 8d to 9d (9d to lOd) ; inferior, 6cl to 7d; medium crossbred super to 9£d (S£d to 9d) ; average 6d to 8d (7d to 84) ; inferior, 4Jd to old; coarse- crossbred super, 6d to 8d (6d to 7d), average 4d to 54d (s£d to 6d) ; inferior 34d to 4d; low crossbred super 54d to 6d (44d to sd) ; hoggets, fine 7d to- 84d, medium 6d to 64d (7d to 8d) ; lambs, fine, 74d to 84d ; lambs, medium, 5d to 61d (6d to 7d) ; seedy, inferior, 3d to 44d (2d to 4d) ; bellies and pieces lialfbred 84d, crossbred good super 5d to 6d, low medium 2d to 3d; crutchings, 3d to 34d; locks, 4d to 14d.
