CONFLICTING REPORTS
TOWN CAPTURED WITHOUT RESISTANCE. Electric Telegraph—T’-oss Association Copyright. (Australian-N.Z. Cable Association.) London, February 28. Reports as to the position of Tiflis are conflicting. Georgian Government telegrams state that it has not fallen. A Constantinople correspondent states that anarchy and pillage are rampaait in Tiflis, owing to Bolshevik agents demoralising the Georgian army which later melted away, allowing the Bolshevik army to capture the town without resistance. Another Bolshevik army iR marching upon Ba.toum, on which a Turkish, army is also marching. The Moslem population, will certainly support the latter.
