The Taupiri and Rot own ro coal mines are working .steadily, hut have not since the holidays been fullv manned this being due Jo some of the miners having extended their holidays. The Taupiri Comp-mv. however, expects to have a full complement of men liy the beginning of next week. Since +he work was resumed, the miners have been drifting hack 'to the mines, and the output of coal has been showing a steady dnilv increase. The mines are being kept fully .supplied with coal trucks and should this bo msunt.'Tincd. coal merchants and industries dependent upon the Waika'to coal mines for supplies should l>e able to accumulate stocks in the near future.
