STRANGE CASE
AIRMAN. VICIOUSLY ATTACKED

Follow ing ou the aivival of tile United; States airmen at Mattico a regrettable incident occurred. Lieutenant Hinton/'who sent a letter to New York stating that one of the airmen, Lieut. Farrell, offeredi to die iu order that his body should be used to feed the others was viciously attacked by Farrell who claimed that the incident never occurred. Hinton’s face was bruised and the three airmen though apparently physically fit had been Siiulfexj: (g gjreMiklus miqiital; tjortuile. There were serious bickerings throughout the journey and* Farrell alleged that safe landings could have been made/ but the others carelessly desired to take a chance and drift as far as possible. The Mattico incident is arousing most intense interest.
