DROWNED IN THE AVON.
I A CHRISTCHURCH CASE. Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A man at present unidentified was drowned in the Avon, near th.■ centre ot the city last evening. He was seen standing by the liver foi some i time, and later struggling in tile : water. A\ lien a policeman arrived, lie was dragged out, but the man was dead. Christchurch, Last Night. The man drowned in the Avon has been identified as James Butcher, single, aged ">0 years.
