A special general meeting of the Amalgamated Railway Society was addressed by the President, the following motion was carried: “That in the event of the Government refusing an increase in pay the Executive Council immediately oonvene a meeting in Wellington of branch representatives who will act in ao4 cordance with instructions received from their respective branches, such instructions to be given by special meeting of the various branches.” Barmevirke. This Day. The Dannevirke branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants unanimously supported the Timaru resolution that the Government take immediate steps.to cope with the cost of living or else nothing less than 2s a day increase be demanded ,
