NEW RECRUITING SCHEME.
SECOND EDITION.
A communication from the Government relating to the new recruiting scheme lias been received by the Pallia tua County Council, j The acting-chairman (Mr H. Cornelius) said he would like to see a full Council present when the matter waa discussed. He suggested the communication be held over. Other councillors agreed with this j view. ' Cr. Mathews mentioned the importance of the matter and quoted a abatement by the Prime Minister regarding the record recruits for a population the size of New Zealand, iHe thouglit they should*show their | sympathy with the new scheme in | order to encourage the maintenance of the voluntary system. ! The matter was held over till next meeting.
