lu April last a New Plymouth lady, wliose husband left with the Third Reinforcements, forwarded to him a parcel (registered), containing writing pads, envelopes, a pocket pack of cards small mirror, needles and thread, etc. Judge of the sender's surprise alien the parcel was returned to her with the information that the addressee was reported missing! As only on Saturday last she had received a letter, dated late in November, front her husband saying that, hut for an attack of dysentrv, lie was alive and well, the erronwms information did not disturb her. On opening the parcel she discovered that its canvas-sewn cover had been ripped off, ail the little nick-nacks appropriated, and only tlie pads, envelopes, and cards remained, the package being securely tied up again and returned with various pencilled directions. Grasping rather humorously at the imompetent bungling that has been evident, the lady immediately remade the parcel up, and ha.s sent, it off again in the hope that it will reach her soldier boy before next April, or within a year of its despatch !
