Lieut. Berg has asked the United States to consider the liner Appam afair war prize . A ckoe guard is being maintained and it is impossible to obtain the real facts as to the capture of the vessel.

The British Consul at New York now announces that no submarine accompanied the Appam.

The whereabouts of the Moewe is not discoverable. It is believed there was half a million sterling of South African bullion aboard the Appam.
