David Crewe reports on the sale held at the Mart, Pahiatua, on Saturday : There was no entry of pigs for sale, but a large entry of poultry came forward. Prices were as follows: 1 Bantam rooster, sold on account of the wounded soldiers, brought 4s; hens 1-, 9d and 2s each, roosters Is 7d each: cabbages 2d and 3d each, pumpkins 8s .sack, or 6d each. Trees: Azalias Is each, Erica) 3s 3d, Palais 2s (xl each, Camillias Is each, Cypress Is Rhododendrons 2s, •‘Vs each. Silver Birch 3d each. Dutzin. 6d each. Holly 2s 6d each, Cryptomona Is Od each, Grandolia Is 5d to Is 8d and Is 9d each, Rose Is, Akc Ako 2s. and a lot of other plants and shrubs too numerous t-o particularise. A quantity of furniture and sundries were disposed of at satisfactory prices.
